Fort Jennings fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Kalida on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1. The Musketeers' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Fort Jennings saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Calvelage, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one double.

Fort Jennings' loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Kalida, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.

Coming up, Fort Jennings will face off against Ottoville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Kalida, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Liberty-Benton at 7:00 p.m. The Eagles will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
