Preview: Lawrence Tigers vs. Comstock Colts
The Lawrence Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Comstock Colts at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lawrence will be strutting in after a victory while Comstock will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, Lawrence got the win against Bloomingdale by a conclusive 50-30. With Lawrence ahead 33-13 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Lawrence can attribute much of their success to Noel Saldana, who scored 12 points along with five steals, and Ben McCaw, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zander Payment, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Comstock's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 47-34 to Hartford.
The victory got Lawrence back to even at 1-1. As for Comstock, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Lawrence barely slipped by Comstock in their previous matchup back in February, winning 58-57. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lawrence since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
