Baseball Recap: Dyer County Starts off Right with Win over Tipton-Rosemark Academy

Dyer County took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. Everything went their way against the Tipton-Rosemark Academy Rebels as the Dyer County Choctaws made off with an 11-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Choctaws, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Landon Willis looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Koleman Pride was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Ethan Scroggins was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Dyer County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tipton-Rosemark Academy only posted an OBP of .111.

This is the second loss in a row for Tipton-Rosemark Academy and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

When Dyer County and Tipton-Rosemark Academy next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Dyer County will try to stop Collierville's four-game winning streak when they meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Tipton-Rosemark Academy will take on Senatobia and their five-game winning streak at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
