Green Valley faced Bishop Gorman in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Gators came up short against the Gaels, falling 10-4. The Gators' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Lyla Baxter was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Lauryn Galvin also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Green Valley's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Bishop Gorman, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 9-6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Green Valley will venture away from home to challenge Foothill at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bishop Gorman, they will be taking part in a tournament against Santa Margarita at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Gaels 3.8, the Eagles 1.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
