Basketball Game Preview: Clairemont Chieftains vs. Morse Tigers

The Clairemont Chieftains will head out to face off against the Morse Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Clairemont will be strutting in after a victory while Morse will be coming in after a defeat.

Clairemont will bounce into Friday's match after beating High Tech SD, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Clairemont narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past High Tech SD 45-43.

Meanwhile, Morse came up short against Crawford on Tuesday and fell 60-47.

Clairemont will need focus on slowing down Jamarion Hall, one of several Morse players who made an impact when they last played. He dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds. Hall's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Eldren Vergara was another key player, going 5 for 10 en route to 13 points and five boards.

Morse now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Clairemont, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 12-13.

Clairemont beat Morse 59-51 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clairemont since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
