Basketball Game Preview: Fairfield Central Griffins vs. Clinton Red Devils

The Fairfield Central Griffins will head out to take on the Clinton Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Fairfield Central is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took down Cheraw 75-59 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Griffins.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Clinton had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against Landrum on Thursday as Clinton made off with a 45-19 victory. The Red Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 21 points or more this season.

Clinton's win came from a few key players Fairfield Central will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was McKenzie Clark, who went 7-for-12 to rack up 16 points and eight boards. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Mylayja Thompson, who had five points along with ten assists and seven rebounds.

Clinton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.9 points over those games. The win got Fairfield Central back to even at 11-11.
