Softball Game Preview: Perkiomen School Panthers vs. Lansdale Catholic Crusaders

The Perkiomen School Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Lansdale Catholic Crusaders at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Perkiomen School knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Lansdale Catholic likes a good challenge.

Perkiomen School is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Abington Friends just ended the team's three-game winning streak last Monday. They took a 15-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of Abington Friends. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game back in April (11), the Panthers still had to take the loss.

Cami Hannigan-Christian was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Kenna Tobin was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Lansdale Catholic hadn't done well against Archbishop Ryan recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Crusaders narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Raiders and Ragdolls 7-5. The Crusaders' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Lansdale Catholic's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6-1. As for Perkiomen School, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
