Basketball Recap: Four Corners Takes a Loss

Four Corners lost against Hope Academy back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Coyotes were outmatched by the Trojan and fell 73-39. The Coyotes were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-24.

When it comes to explaining why Four Corners lost, don't look at Gabriel Gibson. Despite the final result, he posted eight points.

Nehemiah Raphael was his usual excellent self, going 9-for-13 en route to 21 points for Hope Academy. The game was Raphael's third in a row with at least 21 points. Kelvin Akins was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Four Corners and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Hope Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Looking ahead, Four Corners will welcome Oasis Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hope Academy, they have already played their next contest, a 71-39 win against IMG Academy Silver on the 2nd.
