Basketball Recap: Leyden Takes a Loss

Leyden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Downers Grove South Mustangs, falling 65-41. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 548th, while the Mustangs are ranked 182nd).

Leyden's record is now 7-18. As for Downers Grove South, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-11.

Leyden will take on Willowbrook at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Leyden is facing Willowbrook at the right time seeing as Willowbrook is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Downers Grove South has already played their next match (against Plainfield East), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
