Stevens faced Mitchell in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Raiders fell just short of the Kernels by a score of 3-2. The Raiders' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.
Stevens actually scored more points across those five sets (115-109), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 28-26, 18-25, 20-25, 16-14.
Londyn Hajek was the offensive standout of the match as she had ten digs and three assists. That's the most digs she has posted over her last six matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Cassidy Korzan, who had eight digs and three aces.
Stevens' defeat dropped their record down to 21-4. As for Mitchell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
