Basketball Recap: Oak Mountain Academy Takes a Loss

Oak Mountain Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They took a 47-32 bruising from the Flint River Academy Wildcats. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-38 last Friday.

When it comes to explaining why Oak Mountain Academy lost, don't look at Jeb Harper. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 boards. Another player making a difference was Mads Koelling, who posted nine points and eight rebounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Flint River Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamir Muhammad, who scored 19 points and seven boards. Cole Riner was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Oak Mountain Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Flint River Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Oak Mountain Academy will take on Georgia Force Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Georgia Force Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 24 matchups -- so hopefully Oak Mountain Academy likes a good challenge. As for Flint River Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 60-28 victory against Lafayette Christian on the 4th.
