Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Bowen

Bowen had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They walked away with a 68-59 win over the Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs.

Bowen got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rae'Qwon Rogers out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. Those ten rebounds gave Rogers a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Carter, who went 11 of 21 en route to 23 points.

Bowen's record now sits at 8-9. As for Deer Creek-Mackinaw, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bowen will venture away from home to challenge DuSable at 4:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Bowen is facing DuSable at the right time seeing as DuSable is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Deer Creek-Mackinaw, they will head out to take on Heyworth at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
