The Midtown Knights will stay at home for another game and welcome the M.L. King Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Midtown knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten run or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully M.L. King likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Midtown got the win against Forest Park by a conclusive 15-1. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won five contests by 12 runs or more so far this season.

Megan Bookspun made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive pitching appearances. Meanwhile, M.L. King was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 17-0 to Pace Academy. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Lions' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Midtown's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. As for M.L. King, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
