Baseball Recap: Marine Leadership Academy Extends Road Winning Streak to Seven

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Marine Leadership Academy). Everything went their way against the Roosevelt Rough Riders on Saturday as they made off with a 26-7 win. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Bulldogs with their most commanding win of the season.

Marine Leadership Academy got a massive performance out of Nathan Baez, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, three stolen bases, and seven RBI. Those four hits gave Baez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Damien O'Malley, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs.

Marine Leadership Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .767. Their OBP was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .600 that Roosevelt posted.

Marine Leadership Academy's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Roosevelt, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Marine Leadership Academy will head out to square off against North Grand at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagle Owls have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.5 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
