Basketball Recap: Q Quinton Watts Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat White Knoll + How To Watch

Laurens won the last time they faced White Knoll and things went their way on Monday too. The stars were shining brightly for the Raiders in a 64-50 win over the Timberwolves.

Laurens' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Q Quinton Watts led the charge by shooting 73% from the field on his way to 21 points and four steals. The Raiders are undefeated when Watts posts 15 or more points, but 0-6 otherwise. Z Zakarion Simpson was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 17 rebounds.

Laurens was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as White Knoll only racked up nine.

Despite the loss, White Knoll still got an impressive performance from Peyton Jennings, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine boards. That was a full 42% of the Timberwolves' points, marking the fourth time in a row Jennings has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyzai Smith, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 13 points and six rebounds.

Laurens' victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for White Knoll, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Laurens will take on Hillcrest in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders will need to watch out since the Rams have now posted at least 55 points in their last five contests. White Knoll and Brookland-Cayce will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bearcats will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Timberwolves surely won't give up without a fight.
