Basketball Game Preview: Haddon Heights Garnets vs. Middle Township Panthers

The Haddon Heights Garnets will take on the Middle Township Panthers on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Haddon Heights comes in on six and Middle Township on nine.

Haddon Heights is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Manchester Township 55-53. 55 seems to be a good number for the Garnets as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Middle Township strolled past Barnegat with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 59-45. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Bengals are ranked 74th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Middle Township's victory bumped their record up to 26-5. As for Haddon Heights, they pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Haddon Heights came up short against Middle Township in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 38-33. Can Haddon Heights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
