Softball Recap: Poland Seminary Comes Up Short

Poland Seminary was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-10 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mathews Mustangs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Bulldogs have suffered since April 17th.

Elliana Thompson led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Bulick, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Poland Seminary's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Mathews, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Poland Seminary will be playing at home against Pymatuning Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Mathews does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
