Recap: Rossview Hawks vs. Northwest Vikings
There's no place like home for the Rossview Hawks, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They secured a 67-63 W over Northwest on Wednesday. Given Rossview's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Northwest is ranked 158th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rossview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Landon Hankemeier led the charge by scoring 19 points along with seven steals. The contest was Hankemeier's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Edwards, who scored 22 points.
Rossview pushed their record up to 9-7 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.8 points per game. As for Northwest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rossview will take on Northeast at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northeast comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Northwest, they will be playing at home against Springfield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Springfield has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
