Basketball Recap: First Baptist Takes a Loss

First Baptist lost against Community Christian back in November of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The First Baptist Crusaders lost to Community Christian on the road by a 71-57 margin.

Despite the defeat, First Baptist saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Caleb Lindsay posted 23 points and three steals. The contest was Lindsay's third in a row with at least 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Jaeger, who had 14 points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, First Baptist smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

First Baptist's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-18. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.7 points over those games. As for Community Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

As of now, neither First Baptist nor Community Christian have any future games scheduled.
