Football Game Preview: Asheville School (Independent) Blues vs. High Point Christian Academy Cougars + Official Tickets

Asheville School (Independent) is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Friday. They are taking a road trip to take on the High Point Christian Academy Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Asheville School (Independent) needed a bit of extra time to put away Christ School. They skirted past the Greenies 30-27.

Shiloh Mukendi was his usual excellent self, rushing for 120 yards and one touchdown.

Asheville School (Independent) didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Mukendi and Isiah Wallace. Mukendi got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, High Point Christian Academy strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past SouthLake Christian Academy, posting a 38-0 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cougars' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Eagles are ranked 270th).

Asheville School (Independent)'s victory bumped their record up to 3-1-1. As for High Point Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.

Asheville School (Independent) didn't have too much breathing room in their game against High Point Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in October of 2023, but they still walked away with a 36-31 victory. Will the Blues repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
