Volleyball Game Preview: Nazareth Academy Roadrunners vs. Cristo Rey Jesuit Cristeros

The Nazareth Academy Roadrunners will venture away from home to square off against the Cristo Rey Jesuit Cristeros at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Nazareth Academy has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight losses, while Cristo Rey Jesuit will come in with four straight wins.

On Thursday, Nazareth Academy came up short against Joliet Catholic and fell 2-0.

Nazareth Academy was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Cristo Rey Jesuit was able to grind out a solid victory over Northtown on Wednesday, taking the game 2-0.

Cristo Rey Jesuit easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-20.

Nazareth Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-22. As for Cristo Rey Jesuit, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-6-1.

Nazareth Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Cristo Rey Jesuit when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Roadrunners since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
