Basketball Game Preview: Global Concepts Gators vs. Lackawanna Steelers

The Global Concepts Gators are taking a road trip to face off against the Lackawanna Steelers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Global Concepts is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.8 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Global Concepts came up short against Holland and fell 61-49. The Gators have struggled against the Dutchmen recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, Global Concepts had strong showings from Eric Davis, who went 8-for-15 to rack up 17 points and six boards, and Jose Castro, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 boards gave Castro a new career-high.

Lackawanna hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They skirted past Iroquois 60-58. That's two games straight that the Steelers have won by exactly two points.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-11. As for Global Concepts, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.

Global Concepts took a serious blow against Lackawanna in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, falling 77-45. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Global Concepts was down 35-12.
