            Baseball Recap: Baldwin Highlanders vs. Montour Spartans        
        
		
        
        
            Baldwin dropped their record down to 8-6 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They fell  8-3 to the Montour Spartans. The Highlanders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Spartans earlier this season, when they won  7-2.
As for Montour, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.3 runs over those games.
For Montour's part,  Michael Ivanoff made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching four innings while giving up just two earned runs off   three  hits. Ivanoff was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with two  RBI and one  run.
 In other batting news,  Andrew Porto was  incredible,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run, two  stolen bases,  and two  RBI. Those  three  hits gave  him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Matteo Weber, who  got on base  in all four of his plate appearances with three  runs and one  stolen base.
 Baldwin has  already played their next  match (against West Allegheny), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Montour, they will square off against Central Catholic at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Spartans are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on  a  nine-game losing streak.
