Volleyball Game Preview: Reedley Pirates vs. Independence Falcons + Official Tickets

The Reedley Pirates will square off against the Independence Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Reedley came up short against Immanuel on Thursday, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-14, 25-13.

Bakersfield came into Thursday's matchup looking for another win against Independence, but Aria Moreno wouldn't allow it. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Drillers on Thursday thanks in part to Moreno, who had 32 digs and two aces. She has been hot for a while, having posted 13 or more digs the last 15 times she's played.

Independence walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-11, 25-23.

Reedley better focus on containing Raya Sanders and Amari Johnson as the pair were huge in Independence's win. Sanders had eight digs, while Johnson had 12 kills, eight digs, and two aces. That's the most digs Sanders has posted since back in September.

Independence is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-11-1 record this season. As for Reedley, their loss dropped their record down to 23-12-1.
