Softball Game Preview: Watertown Arrows vs. Spearfish Spartans

The Watertown Arrows will head out on the road to square off against the Spearfish Spartans at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Saturday, Watertown came up short against Yankton and fell 8-5. The Arrows have struggled against the Bucks/Gazelles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Spearfish didn't have quite enough to beat Sturgis Brown on Tuesday and fell 8-6. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Spearfish's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Watertown, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Everything went Watertown's way against Spearfish when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Watertown made off with an 18-2 win. Will the Arrows repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
