            Clairemont never let their opponents score on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Mission Bay Buccaneers with a sharp  8-0 win. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season,  with their most recent  victory being a  9-4  win  on Tuesday.
The result came thanks to  Christian Garcia's shutout, as he gave up just five  hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in seven consecutive appearances.

 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Luis Murrieta, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with three  runs and one  stolen base. Those  three  runs gave  him a new career-high.  Clairemont  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mission Bay only posted  an  OBP of  .231.
Clairemont has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Mission Bay,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 18-6.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clairemont will take on La Jolla at 4:15  p.m.  on Monday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their  eighth straight  win, something the Chieftains surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mission Bay, they will challenge Canyon Crest Academy at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Buccaneers are facing the Ravens at the right time seeing as the Ravens are stuck on  a  three-game losing streak.
