The South Plaquemines Hurricanes will challenge Jefferson RISE Charter at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Plaquemines is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.

Last Wednesday, South Plaquemines was able to grind out a solid victory over Phoenix, taking the game 10-7. The win continues a trend for the Hurricanes in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won five in a row.

The team relied heavily on Mylee Guidry, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

South Plaquemines always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Jefferson RISE Charter's offense. They came up short against Fontainebleau on Saturday, falling 16-0. Jefferson RISE Charter has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

South Plaquemines' victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Jefferson RISE Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

South Plaquemines took their win against Jefferson RISE Charter when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Plaquemines since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
