Their defense stepped up to hand the Texas City Stingarees a 2-0 shutout on Friday. Given Port Neches-Groves' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 131st, while Texas City are ranked 421st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Port Neches-Groves has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.
