Basketball Game Preview: Fort Dodge Dodgers vs. Humboldt Wildcats

The Fort Dodge Dodgers will head out to square off against the Humboldt Wildcats on Monday.

Last Thursday, Fort Dodge came up short against Hoover and fell 54-45. The loss continues a trend for the Dodgers in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Humboldt had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 73-65.

Humboldt has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.6 points per game. As for Fort Dodge, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

Fort Dodge suffered a grim 74-53 defeat to Humboldt in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Fort Dodge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
