Recap: Fluvanna County Flying Flucos vs. Monticello Mustangs
The Fluvanna County Flying Flucos lost against the Monticello Mustangs back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Fluvanna County fell 60-48 to Monticello. Fluvanna County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Monticello to victory, but perhaps none more so than Samantha Shifflett, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Valerie Swanson, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Fluvanna County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Monticello, their win bumped their record up to 12-10.
Fluvanna County will head out on the road to challenge Monticello at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Monticello focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday.
