Cobden has gone 6-1 against Meridian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. Cobden will challenge Meridian at 4:30 p.m. Cobden will be strutting in after a victory while Meridian will be coming in after a defeat.

While Appleknockers fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Monday's season opener. They were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over Webber last Monday.

Abby Pitts was a major factor no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Pitts was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Natalie Franklin was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and one double. Allison McGee was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

Cobden was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Webber only posted a batting average of .143.

Meanwhile, Meridian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Shawnee, falling 21-6.

Kiara Lane was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two). Jayla Meeks also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
