Baseball Recap: Leesville Takes a Loss

Leesville lost against Westlake back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Leesville Wampus Cats came up short against the Westlake Rams, falling 17-2. The Wampus Cats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hunter Belton was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

Leesville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5-1. As for Westlake, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Coincidentally, Leesville and Westlake will both be playing DeQuincy the next time they take the field. Leesville will host DeQuincy at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, while Westlake will host them at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
