Preview: Foxcroft Academy Ponies vs. Hermon Hawks
The Foxcroft Academy Ponies will be home for the holidays to greet the Hermon Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Foxcroft Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Hermon will be coming in after a loss.
Even though Foxcroft Academy has not done well against Presque Isle recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The stars were shining brightly for Foxcroft Academy in a 57-40 victory over Presque Isle. With that win, Foxcroft Academy brought their scoring average up to 51.3 points per game.
Silas Topolski was the offensive standout of the game as he went 7 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and 0 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Shane Birungi, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Hermon came up short against Orono on Saturday and fell 53-43. Hermon has struggled against Orono recently, as their match on Saturday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Foxcroft Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Hermon, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Foxcroft Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Hermon when the teams last played back in January, winning 48-36. Does Foxcroft Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hermon turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
