Baseball Game Preview: Unionville-Sebewaing Patriots vs. Garber Dukes

Unionville-Sebewaing is 0-8 against Garber since April of 2016 but things could change on Wednesday. The Patriots will face off against the Dukes at 4:00 p.m.

Unionville-Sebewaing will face Garber after dropping another heartbreaker against Sandusky on Tuesday, which marked the second time in a row the team's come within 2.1 of beating them. The Patriots fell 8-3 to the Wolves. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 20, 2019, but that streak is no more.

Meanwhile, Garber's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over Birch Run. The Dukes haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

The result came thanks to Camden Parker's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Garber saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Brey, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Garber's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-8-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Unionville-Sebewaing, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Unionville-Sebewaing suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Garber when the teams last played back in April of 2022. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
