Football Game Preview: Burnet Bulldogs vs. Lampasas Badgers

Burnet is 2-8 against Lampasas since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Bulldogs will take on the Badgers at 7:30 p.m. Burnet will be strutting in after a victory while Lampasas will be coming in after a loss.

Burnet not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 11, 2024 (when they won 43-7). They put the hurt on Marble Falls with a sharp 35-14 win. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Josiah Coronado produced another solid performance rushing for 125 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Lampasas didn't have quite enough to beat Brownwood on Friday and fell 42-39. While the Badgers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lions 14-7 in the first quarter.

Burnet will need to focus on slowing down Bryson Roberts, one of several Lampasas players who made an impact when they last played. He threw for 122 yards and four TDs, and also rushed for 43 yards. KJ Reed helped out on the ground, rushing for 111 yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Lampasas fell to 6-1. As for Burnet, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Burnet came up short against Lampasas in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 42-38. Thankfully for the Bulldogs, Reed Jerome (who rushed for 107 yards and three scores on only 15 carries, and also threw for 136 yards and a pair of touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time.
