Volleyball Recap: Concord Has No Trouble Against Miramonte

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pittsburg, Concord was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Miramonte Matadors. This was a revenge game for the Bears: when they faced off against the Matadors back in March, they had to take a 3-1 loss.

Concord didn't let Miramonte take a single set, but it sure wasn't easy: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 25-23, 25-22.

Jumaiya Tabayoyong paced Concord's offense, picking up 12 kills. Tabayoyong got some help from Levi Serrano and his 26 assists. Serrano was also solid from the service line: he led the team with nine aces.

Concord is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-14 record this season. As for Miramonte, their defeat was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-22.

Coming up, Concord will take on Bentley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Miramonte, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Alhambra at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
