Basketball Game Preview: North Butler Bearcats vs. New Hampton Chickasaws

The North Butler Bearcats will square off against the New Hampton Chickasaws at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 66-27, which was the final score in North Butler's tilt against St. Ansgar on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 289th, while the Saints are ranked 89th).

Meanwhile, New Hampton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 58-52 heartbreaker at the hands of Decorah-North Winneshiek.

New Hampton's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for North Butler, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.
