Soccer Recap: Boiling Springs Takes a Loss

Boiling Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Gaffney Indians who were credited with the win. The Gaffney Indians got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Boiling Springs Bulldogs' four. Boiling Springs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Gaffney earlier this season, when they won 1-0.

Boiling Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Gaffney, with the victory, they broke their 13-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-13-1.

Boiling Springs and Gaffney could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings. The Bulldogs (ranked 97th) will meet Riverside (ranked 30th) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Gaffney will take on Dorman at 7:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (159 vs. 45).
