Game recap: Powered by Cooper and Scott Havelock defeats South Central

Pharoh Cooper ran for three touchdowns and Derrell Scott added two as well as Havelock (N.C.) beat South Central (Winterville, N.C.) 41-7 on Saturday.

The Rams were up 41-0 at the half after taking the lead on a Cooper touchdown run in the first quarter.

A 21-point first quarter helped Havelock secure the big victory. HHS rushed for three touchdowns on the ground during the quarter, including two by Cooper.

The Rams' standout player in the win was Cooper. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown. He has now scored 11 touchdowns on the season.

The Falcons' lone touchdown came on a 10-yard run in the third quarter.

Havelock had given up an average of 14.3 points prior to the contest.



When the two teams played each other last season, HHS came away with a 42-3 victory.

Havelock (7-1) will play a 3A Coastal game against Jacksonville next week, while South Central (2-7) will take on White Oak also in a 3A Coastal game.
