Baseball Recap: Waynesville Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Monday. Waynesville blew past St. James 10-4. The victory was familiar territory for Waynesville, who have now won three contests in a row.

Dylan Pelkey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Parker Althusius was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Waynesville's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-14 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Kyren Dance, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one double.

Waynesville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2025.

Waynesville's record now sits at 8-14. As for St. James, their loss dropped their record down to 2-16.

Waynesville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-3 defeat against Glendale on the 5th. As for St. James, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 13-0 loss against Linn on the 7th.
