Basketball Recap: South Sumter Takes a Loss

South Sumter was the 52-47 winner over Sunlake when they last played one another back in December of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The South Sumter Raiders fell 62-54 to the Sunlake Seahawks on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 367th, while the Seahawks are ranked 170th).

South Sumter has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Sunlake, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-4.

South Sumter will be playing in front of their home fans against Excel Christian Academy Blue at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sunlake, they will take on South Sumter at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
