Basketball Recap: Angleton Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Angleton on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Texas City Stingarees as the Angleton Wildcats made off with a 63-40 victory. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 521st, while the Stingarees are ranked 1270th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the defeat, Texas City saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Vasia Farris posted 14 points along with eight boards and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zhyria Evans, who earned 12 points and four steals.

Angleton's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 18-13. As for Texas City, they dropped their record down to 4-23 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home.
