Basketball Game Preview: Manila Mustangs vs. Altamont Longhorns

Manila and Altamont are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The two teams will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Manila came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Rich, falling 57-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mustangs have suffered since December 6, 2024.

Meanwhile, Altamont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost to Wendover on the road by a 50-32 margin.

Manila's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points over those games. As for Altamont, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-16.

Manila took their victory against Altamont when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 64-44. In that game, Manila amassed a halftime lead of 34-14, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
