It was a proper cat-fight when Marshall duked it out with Belleville on Tuesday. The Cardinals walked away with a 3-1 win over the Wildcats. The victory continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won eight in a row.

Marshall was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 21-25, 25-19, 25-18.

Summer Hellenbrand paced Marshall's offense, picking up 19 kills. Hellenbrand got some help from Ava Neuberger and her 34 assists. Kenzie Logan controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

When it comes to explaining why Belleville lost, don't look at Taylor Schmidt. Despite the final result, she had ten digs and two aces.

Marshall's win bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Belleville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season.
