Volleyball Recap: Challenger Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Challenger came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy Crusaders as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 two weeks ago.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-15, 25-21.

Kate Hightower paced Challenger's offense, picking up seven kills. Hightower got some help from Addison Jones and her 14 assists. Hightower was also solid from the service line: she led the team with ten aces.

Challenger's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Challenger will take on rival Veritas Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Long Shoals Wesleyan Academy is set to face off against their familiar foe Community Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on the 25th.
