Recap: Hardin Valley Academy Hawks vs. Morristown-Hamblen East Hurricanes
If the Hardin Valley Academy Hawks were riding high off their 62-42 takedown of the Maryville Red Rebels last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Hardin Valley Academy took a 45-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Morristown-Hamblen East on Monday. Hardin Valley Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Morristown-Hamblen East apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2017.
Morristown-Hamblen East's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ella Wampler, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Hannah Hall was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 22 rebounds.
Hardin Valley Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Morristown-Hamblen East, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
