Softball Recap: Highland Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Highland had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on the Kofa Kings with a sharp 11-1 victory on Saturday. Considering the Hawks have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Easton Joslin, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Makayla Royer Hill was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Highland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .591. The last time their batting average was this high was back in February of 2024.

Highland's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Kofa, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Highland wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-5 victory against Lakewood on the 8th. As for Kofa, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Shadow Ridge at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Kofa has given up an average of 13.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
