Soccer Game Preview: Santiago vs. Norco

The Santiago Sharks will head out on the road to face off against the Norco Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Santiago's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Santiago's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against King, sneaking past 1-0. Given the Sharks' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 129th, while Wolves are ranked 406th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Norco's and Roosevelt's game on Thursday was close at halftime, but Norco turned on the heat in the second half with two goals. Norco put the hurt on Roosevelt with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Cougars as they're now sitting on three straight.

They hit Roosevelt with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Chris Garcia, Nahum Palacios, and Erick Cervantes.

Santiago's win bumped their record up to 8-5-3. As for Norco, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2-7.
