Football Recap: Shorecrest Prep's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

If Shorecrest Prep was riding high fresh off their 52-22 takedown of Lake Mary Prep last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chargers lost 35-14 to the Lakeside Christian Lions on Friday. The Chargers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Although Shorecrest Prep took the loss, they still got scores from Damarion Feaster and Ke'Mon Dent.

Leading Lakeside Christian to victory were Peyton Rochell and Jaxon Vela. Rochell threw for 179 yards and three TDs on only 16 passes, while Vela rushed for 101 yards and one score. Those 101 rushing yards gave Vela a new career-high.

Having lost for the first time this season, Shorecrest Prep fell to 3-1. As for Lakeside Christian, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Shorecrest Prep will square off against Sports Leadership & Management at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lakeside Christian, they will face off against Calvary Chapel Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.17 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
