Basketball Game Preview: Sunny Hills Lancers vs. Western Pioneers

Having just played yesterday, the Sunny Hills Lancers will jump right back in to play the Western Pioneers at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sunny Hills has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

On Friday, Sunny Hills beat Troy 56-43. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 301st, while the Warriors are ranked 879th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Western, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 58-50 victory over Loara on Thursday.

Western's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Sunny Hills, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Sunny Hills strolled past Western when the teams last played back in December of 2021 by a score of 58-41. Will Sunny Hills repeat their success, or does Western have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
